Entry requirements

Selection is made on the basis of an audition. Candidates will need to demonstrate skills in all three areas of acting, singing and dance. Minimum entry requirements include either a degree or equivalent qualification although the College is able to consider applications from people without formal qualifications who have an exceptional level of ability, practical experience, and a good understanding of the musical theatre profession.

Course content

Only a small group of students are recruited on to the Musical Theatre programme from Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama resulting in an intensive teaching environment that will enable you to develop and strengthen your existing skills in acting, singing and dance. You will undertake extensive classes within each of these areas, with particular emphasis on character and relationship work.

Information for international students

The College regularly holds auditions in Asia and North America and, in some cases, it may be able to accept auditions recordings on DVD from applicants who are unable to attend an audition in person. For more information see our website

Fees and funding

Students can apply for a postgraduate loan and may also be able to apply for financial assistance from a variety of educational charities and trusts.
