Entry requirements

You should have a recognised UK Bachelor's degree, or international equivalent, in a social science discipline. Qualifications in other subjects will be assessed on their merits. Your application may be considered if you have previous education and experience, equivalent to a degree-level qualification, which includes suitable preliminary training. All international applicants must be able to show that their English is of a high enough standard to successfully engage with and complete their course at SOAS.

Course content

The MSc International Business (Online) prepares students to thrive in the fast-moving world of global enterprise.

The programme explores how multinational firms compete and grow across political, economic and cultural boundaries, shaped by digital transformation, sustainability pressures and geopolitical change. Core modules develop expertise in global strategy, cross-cultural leadership and international financial decision-making, equipping you to manage people, risk and value across borders.

With a strong focus on applied learning, you will tackle real-world case studies, build advanced analytical and research skills, and integrate strategy, finance and leadership to solve complex global business challenges.

Structure

You can study this programme either as an accelerated two-year part-time degree or a three-year part-time degree.

Two-year route (accelerated):

Year 1: 90 credits (three modules)

Year 2: 90 credits (three modules, including either a capstone dissertation or project)

Three-year route:

Year 1: 60 credits (two modules)

Year 2: 60 credits (two modules)

Year 3: 60 credits (two modules, including either a capstone dissertation or project)

Both routes are designed to build a strong foundation in your first year, followed by greater flexibility in later years, including optional modules and the opportunity to complete a capstone dissertation or applied project.
