Course content

The MA Global Histories (Online) explores how the modern world has been shaped, experienced, and interpreted from diverse local and global perspectives.

Designed for distance learners, it fosters a vibrant international community and critical engagement with Eurocentric narratives. Core modules examine the forces behind today’s global landscape (The Making of the Contemporary World), key methods and debates in historical analysis (Approaches to Global Histories), and long-term human-environment dynamics (Deep Histories of Humanity).

With research-methods training and a supervised dissertation or project, you will develop advanced analytical, research, and communication skills to apply global-historical thinking across academic, professional, and public contexts.
