About Swansea University

Swansea is a two-campus university located on the stunning coastline of South West Wales. We’ve been providing superb postgraduate study since 1920, and now have a growing postgraduate community of over 3,500 students.

Postgraduate funding across all subject areas

We understand that the cost of your studies is one of the most important factors when choosing a university for your postgraduate degree. Last year, we offered just under £10 million in postgraduate scholarships, providing funding across a range of subject areas and qualifications. Scholarships are advertised throughout the year, so check out our scholarship list regularly for details of new opportunities.

Postgraduate government funding is also available for UK/EU students starting eligible master’s courses at Swansea. Our postgraduate courses will do more than extend your knowledge of your subject area; they’ll also give you valuable, transferable skills to take into a competitive jobs market. You’ll have the opportunity to carry out industry-linked research projects and undertake work placements with partner organisations such as IBM, Fujitsu, Santander, the NHS and Rolls-Royce.

A spectacular seafront location

Swansea University occupies an enviable position right on the coastline of Swansea Bay, with both of our campuses within walking distance of golden, sandy beaches. Whether you feel more at home on the beach or in the city, Swansea offers something for everyone. The University is just a short walk or bus ride away from Swansea’s city centre, which offers a range of shops, restaurants, bars and attractions. Just along the beach is the spectacular Gower Peninsula- the UK’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Gower provides the perfect natural environment for a range of sports, such as walking, climbing, surfing and mountain biking.
