Course contentBiological chemistry as well as its cognate subjects biophysical chemistry and molecular biophysics, studies the fundamental chemical principles that govern biological systems and is by definition a multi- or inter-disciplinary subject, bringing together skills and interests from both biology and chemistry. Typically this involves the application of synthetic, structural and mechanistic chemistry along with analytical, computational and biological science to tackle problems at the chemistry-biology interface. Biological chemistry has long been a great strength in Manchester, and we cover the whole spectrum of such activities.
