Course content

Our part-time MSc Medical Education course is aimed at clinicians who come into contact with medical students in their roles, and want to further develop their teaching skills through a course with a strong emphasis on professional practice.

Most clinicians engage in some form of teaching, whether this is on wards, in clinics or through other teaching opportunities with undergraduate students and/or trainees. However, few have had the opportunity for professional development in teaching.

Our MSc is suitable for those doctors new to medical education and training, as well as those with experience. Students who enrol on our course include consultants from hospitals and NHS trusts.

The course is also suited to doctors in training in hospitals, general practices and community settings. We also attract doctors with leadership roles in teaching and learning, and GP trainers.
