Entry requirements

Academic

A grade classification of 2:2 is required, or international equivalent. There are no subject pre-requisites.
Work-based
We also consider applicants who are currently employed and wish to apply to University College Birmingham.
To apply, you must have 5 years of relevant managerial work experience, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of the sector for the subject matter you are interested in pursuing.
A reference detailing your roles and responsibilities from your line manager and a meeting with the programme team will usually be scheduled prior to a place being offered

Our MSc in International Events Management is designed to give you specialist knowledge and the versatile skill set you need to thrive in this dynamic, global industry – from festivals, music and sporting mega events through to meetings, conferences and business events. Industry-informed teaching, learning and assessment will give you a competitive advantage within the postgraduate job market.

This master's course has been developed to give you a high level of postgraduate attributes and skills that are relevant to events in a diverse range of settings, including hospitality, leisure, sports and tourism management, so you can navigate and manage complex issues and scenarios. It also places high emphasis on developing your knowledge and understanding of international events management within the context of a dynamic and turbulent global environment, giving you a critical awareness of current issues, new insights and emerging challenges.
