UCA is the second largest creative specialist university in the whole of Europe, with academics coming from all walks of life and bringing a huge variety of experience from the creative sector. This will give you the confidence that you’ll not only learn more about your chosen creative subject but be ready to take on the world when you leave.


We’re proud to be one of the top ten research communities for art and design, as well as the Sunday Times Modern University of the Year (2019). With UCA being the second largest creative specialist university in the whole of Europe and our Business School for the Creative Industries being the first of its kind in the UK, we are trendsetters – just like you! UCA is also home to a number of internationally recognised research centres, including the Centre for Sustainable Design, the Craft Study Centre and the International Textile Research Centre.

Postgraduate study at UCA is all about inspiring and challenging yourself to fulfil your creative potential. Our UCA lecturers are closely connected to their respective creative industries which informs their teaching, keeping the course syllabus relevant and up to date with the newest skills of the industry. We offer a full range of Masters level qualifications with MA, MFA and MSc courses available, as well as opportunities to pursue research degrees through PhD study.

Being a specialist creative university, UCA provides access to innovative, high-tech and quality resources. Whether you’re looking for the latest games and design technology, film and photography studios or studio space for fine arts and crafts, we have the resources you need, plus our specialist technicians have the expertise to help you along the way.

Our Epsom campus houses the first Business School for the Creative Industries in the UK, where the courses incorporate problem-based commercial projects with high-level practical skills. For over 160 years, UCA has specialised in creative education and offers postgraduate course within the main sectors – Creative Arts, Creative Business and Creative Technology.

A Diverse, Creative Community

Creativity is not defined by any one thing – both our students and staff join us from all over the world and bring a variety of abilities and skills with them. Each of our campuses have dedicated student support teams, so that all students are able to make the most out of their time at UCA. These teams are able to provide support both in person and online, with advice for both home and international students including health and wellbeing, finance and support and assistance with disabilities and learning difficulties.

Our past and present student body are all united with their shared dedication and passion for creativity. Graduates leave UCA with the skills and drive to innovate and push the boundaries of the creative industries.

Applications for postgraduate courses are accepted all year, however we recommend applying before 31st March to make sure you have time to prepare your studies.
