Course content


You develop your academic knowledge of immunology to support your practical and analytical research skills in relation to disease, applied statistics, bioinformatics, genomics and immunogenetics plus host pathogen infections. Some of our students undertake further post-graduate study towards PhD degrees either in the UK or overseas. Others move directly into posts in academic or hospital laboratory research, clinical diagnostic laboratories, research institutes, or the pharmaceutical industry. There are also others who start their own enterprise as a result of what they learn and their ability to commercialise from their skills and knowledge. This is a wide ranging programme to provide you with wide ranging applications upon graduation.

Courses include: Basic Skills, Generic Skills, Current Topics in Immunology, Introductory Immunology, Applied Statistics, Molecular Genetics, Introduction to Microbiology, Host Pathogen Interactions, Biologic Discovery, Research Tutorials, Immunogenetics, and your research project. (Some of these courses are optional)
