Summary

Do you want to work in the arts? This programme provides you with skills and knowledge to enable you to bring creative arts to life in terms of communicating visual and other arts formats. You learn the many ways to best showcase arts and culture to various audiences looking at public engagement methods, methods to communicate different genres and the wide ranging tools and techniques to assist in bringing creative arts and culture to life to benefit society and communities. This is a growing area across the UK with more communities and public sector organisations showcasing different art forms in festivals and events which encourage both participation and understanding.

The programme is interdisciplinary as you need to understand the many art forms in order to work out how best to communicate them to their audiences.

Industry Links and Careers

You gain a competitive skill set to enhance your employability and careers. You can go into arts marketing, creative sector markteing within galleries, museums and heritage organisations, engagement positions to take arts to people in wide ranging communities and other areas such as becoming a writer, researcher, journalist, publicity officer, or teacher. You may also go on to curate and become an expert in a specific area of the arts with some experience and/or further study.
