Entry requirements

A 2.1 or a high 2.2 equivalent UK degree in Mechanical Engineering.

A 2.2 degree can be considered on a case by case basis. We look for high 2.2 grades in Thermodynamics, Fluid-dynamics, Static and Dynamic Mechanics.

This Mechanical Engineering programme is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) up to the 2023 student intake. An accredited degree means that graduates are deemed to have met, part or all, of the academic requirements for registration as a Chartered Engineer, and are in a strong position to move on to achieve professional engineering status after a period on initial professional development in industry.

Information for international students

Standard English language requirements apply (IELTS 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in any band).

International students applying for this programme will need an Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) certificate from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office before the University can issue you with a Certificate of Acceptance of Studies (CAS).
