A first-class or upper second-class degree (or equivalent)in Engineering, Materials Science, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related discipline. A strong motivation for digital manufacturing, metals processing, and AI.

Course content

Hosted by leading institutions, Birmingham, Leicester, Nottingham, Loughborough and Warwick, the DigitalMetal CDT trains future leaders to drive AI-enabled transformation in the metals industry. A unique programme combining deep technical research with industry-focused digital skills.

You will develop advanced expertise at the intersection of materials engineering and digital manufacturing. Through interdisciplinary training and industrial collaboration, you will graduate ready to shape the next generation of sustainable, data-driven metal production.
