Course content

The full-time MSc Human Resource Management programme gives you a comprehensive grounding in the core disciplines of HR practice, including:

  • leading, developing, and managing people
  • employee relations
  • employment law.

You will graduate equipped to launch a career as an effective human resource professional, able to comply with the highest professional standards and confident in your professional capability.

Focusing on both operational and strategic issues, you’ll develop the expertise needed to shape the HR agenda in any sized organisation, in any sector. You’ll gain insight into the activities, functions and environment of an organisation, and how a HR function can make a key contribution to its success.

The programme is located within a broader context of social sustainability and emphasises ethical considerations for the HR practitioner. The programme is fully accredited with the CIPD professional qualification (to Level 7) and as such there is a focus on teaching the most recent ‘good’ HRM practices that meet a range of people management principles.
