Our Advanced Manufacturing MSc prepares you for high-value engineering roles in modern manufacturing, automation and industrial innovation, or for progression into research-led careers.
You’ll gain the advanced technical and professional skills needed to analyse, optimise and design manufacturing systems that respond to global challenges in digitalisation, automation and sustainability.
You’ll develop a strong engineering foundation with specialist expertise in robotics and automation, advanced manufacturing technologies and the mechanics of materials. Learning is applied, with an emphasis on practical problem-solving, industry-relevant case studies and project-based assessments that reflect real manufacturing environments.
The industry placement or research year is a great way to gain valuable professional or academic experience and provides an opportunity for international students to study in the UK for two years instead of one.
Brighton & Hove is the UK’s leading city for new economy businesses (Centre for Cities 2025), which includes advanced engineering as a sector, and is just an hour away from central London.
