This programme is intended for dental practitioners who want to develop competence in providing conscious sedation. The programme has been designed to allow you to gain experience of using inhalation sedation with nitrous oxide and oxygen, and midazolam. You will build your knowledge through distance learning modules and study days, while clinical skills will be developed during supervised clinical practice in Bristol. We aim to produce caring, knowledgeable and skilful practitioners who are competent in the provision of conscious sedation within the limits of the individual clinician.
Students who complete both this programme and the Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Oral Surgery will be awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Oral Surgery, Clinical Conscious Sedation and Anxiety Management.
