A good MSc degree (or international equivalent) in economics or in a very quantitative discipline (eg mathematics, physics, chemistry, engineering, computer science).
Consideration may also be given to students with exceptional academic performance at undergraduate level (strong upper second-class honours with a final average of 65 per cent or above) in an economics degree with a strong quantitative component or in a very quantitative discipline.
Months of entry
The MRes in Economics is an intensive one-year taught programme that provides advanced training in economics and econometrics. It is primarily designed for students who are interested in going on to further study at PhD level, and emphasises the knowledge and skills needed for PhD research.
