Entry requirements
A 2:2 honours degree in an area broadly related to education, and/or special educational needs. Those with a degree in a different area but with experience of working in an educational setting with children/young people with special educational needs and disabilities will also be considered. Applicants without an undergraduate degree but with significant experience of working with children/young people with special educational needs and disabilities may be considered and will be invited for interview.

The University of Chester's Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) with SpLD equips you with the essential knowledge and skills to become an advanced practitioner and leader. Throughout this course, you’ll develop the tools to creative inclusive learning environments where every student can strive.

You’ll learn how to identify, assess, and support individuals with the SpLD dyslexia, gaining specialist knowledge that has a direct impact on people's lives. Study your way
This part-time course offers flexible learning options including a blended mixture of online and in-person sessions. This approach allows you to maintain your professional commitments while studying at a postgraduate level.
Between sessions, you’ll engage in guided independent study using the University’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), access library resources, attend tutorials, and prepare assignments that align theory to your everyday work.
