Entry requirements

You should have the equivalent to a UK Honours degree, preferably at 2:1 level or above. Candidates with a 2:2 degree may also apply. Preferred degree disciplines are Law, Economics, Geology, Petroleum or Mining Engineering, Finance.

Work experience in the energy/natural resources industry is an advantage, though it is not a strict requirement.

Course content

Learn about the multiple and complex challenges facing the energy industry, such as decarbonisation, wide scale digitisation, and decentralisation.

A mining sector decision-maker, such as a CEO, government minister, or managing director, has to understand competing views, compare their implications, and determine a suitable way forward. You'll be equipped to become or to assist C-suite decision-makers. You will learn to be competent in the design and implementation of alternative courses of action in the mining sector.

You will learn to analyse, synthesise, and articulate concepts and practices relevant to the energy industry. You will understand the fundamental drivers of various energy markets, such as oil, gas, and electric power. You'll acquire foundational and contextual knowledge and skills in management, through classroom and work-based learning,and coaching from specialist academics or senior industry professionals.
