Many of our programmes are accredited by professional bodies, giving you additional qualifications and maximising your employability when you graduate

Our programmes are taught by award-winning, industry-leading, UK and international experts. Our staff include world-renowned artists, Turner Prize-winner’s, recognised film-makers and authors, leaders of industry and internationally acclaimed researchers.

Supporting your study

At UEL we understand that there may be several barriers that are preventing you from continuing your education at postgraduate level. Whether it is time or affordability that is holding you back, we have designed our degrees and support packages so you can achieve your ambitions.

Flexible Study

We understand that many students will be studying whilst continuing with other commitments such as a family or job. Most courses are offered on both a full and part-time basis and many have teaching in the evening and at the weekends. Many of our courses are also Pod Cast if you need to catch up or recap on a lecture and all learning resources are accessible online. We have 24/7 libraries at all our campuses so you can study at a time that suits you with all the resources you need.

Financial Support

All postgraduate students starting at UEL this September are encouraged to apply for our 50% fee discount scholarship, of which we have £200,000 worth to award! All students also receive a £120 bursary to get them started with their studies and UEL alumnus a 15% discount on their fees if they study a postgraduate degree with us.

Our schools

We have seven distinct schools:

  • School of Psychology

UEL has one of the largest psychology departments in the country, which means we are able to offer an unrivalled choice of specialist modules. Our staff expertise and innovative research covers cognition and neuroscience, drugs and addictive behaviour, health promotion and behaviour, psychology and social change and educational psychology.

  • Cass School of Education and Communities

​We train more than 300 teachers every year, with 94% of PGCE graduates securing a teaching post within six months (compared to a national average of 84%). Our Cass School also houses three innovative research centres covering public pedagogy, mixed economy childcare and social work.

  • School of Social Science

​Located in the heart of multicultural East London – a site of huge cultural and economic transformation – our School of Social Sciences is well placed to lead the discussion on many of today’s hot topics. Offering anthropology, politics, international development, refugee, psychosocial and sociology programmes, 75% of the School’s research has been rated as having international importance.

  • School of Architecture, Computing and Engineering (ACE)

Accredited by multiple professional bodies, and with internationally recognised research, award-winning ACE is the destination of choice for programmes in architecture, civil engineering, computing, electrical and electronic engineering and surveying.

  • School of Business and Law

The onsite mooting room, law clinic and conference centre at UEL’s brand new campus, University Square Stratford, are the perfect place to study postgraduate law. Our business and accounting courses are fully accredited by a host of professional bodies, enabling students on selected programmes to collect multiple qualifications and enhance their employment prospects.

  • School of Heath, Sports and Bioscience (HSB)

HSB boasts an extended list of specialist laboratories and workshops – including London’s only podiatry training facilities – and strong links with key organisations (including the NHS) which create an enhanced learning experience and additional opportunities for UEL students. HSB’s national and international research includes: community health, physiotherapy, health psychology, podiatry, biomedical sciences, microbiology, pharmacology, biochemistry, drug development, forensic sciences, sports science, plant genetics and herbal medicine.

  • School of Arts and Digital Industries (ADI)

Our light and airy purpose-built building at the Docklands Campus is a hub of creativity. Facilities include studio spaces, drawing rooms, a digital-output lab, woodworking and sculpture workshops, film and digital photography studios and exhibition and gallery space. 80% of ADI’s research work was rated as world-leading or internationally excellent, and the staff roll-call includes top artists, published authors and noted filmmakers.
