Since 1898, the University of East London has been a leader in careers-first education, supporting the local community and beyond. Today, we are continuing that mission to improve our communities and reduce inequalities by preparing our students for the careers of the future and making education accessible to all.

We offer a wide range of courses across different subject areas including business, law, the arts, and social sciences. Career Prospects

Our courses are designed to offer more than just academic expertise. We incorporate practical work experience and networking opportunities into the curriculum to help our students get the hands-on experience they need to embark on their chosen career. We also collaborate with industry partners and accreditation bodies to ensure our students are up to professional standard year-on-year.

You will also have access to the Career Advice Centre, where you can benefit from one-on-one appointments with an experienced career advisor to develop job search strategies and enhance your job search skills.

Accommodation

The University of East London is one of the few London universities to have a self-contained campus. Docklands is home to our modern and secure student village which has a free shuttle bus that operates regularly between our three campus sites. We also have on-site security 24/7 to ensure your safety. There also many residential areas nearby which provide privately rented accommodation.

Student Support

From the moment you enrol, you will have access to a range of resources and programs designed to help you make the most of your time at university. There are Student Support Hubs available both at Stratford and Docklands, who can help with enquiries relating to finance, accommodation, your courses and more.

We also have a Health and Wellbeing Team who offer drop-in sessions, counselling services, and online mental health support, and a Disability and Dyslexia Service who provide support to less-abled students and those with specific learning difficulties.

Our Facilities

At the University of East London, you will have access to the industry-standard facilities across all our campuses as well as comfortable, modern spaces to relax and socialise.

Docklands

SportsDock is our £21m state-of-the-art sports facility located on our Docklands campus. It serves as a social hub for you to enjoy sports activities in a relaxed and friendly environment. It was also the training centre for Team USA prior to the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games!

There is also an on-site nursery so you can balance your childcare needs with your studies.

Stratford — Water Lane

Our Stratford Water Lane campus is in one of the best connected areas of East London. It houses our Hospital and Primary Care Training Hub, modern physiology and biomechanics labs, and computing services, with more to come as part of our Connected Campus development.

University Square Stratford (USS)

USS is one of London’s most modern and well-equipped campuses which is home to our specialist performance spaces, a simulation courtroom, trading floor, and marketing analytics labs.

East London is a vibrant hub of creative energy, boasting some of the most exciting galleries, museums, and music venues in London, all at your doorstep. There is an abundance of street markets and restaurants serving up delectable cuisines from around the world, and plenty of green space for you enjoy a day out with friends.

You can also explore over 250 shops and eateries at the Westfield shopping centre in Stratford or make your way into Central London in as little as 20 minutes with easy access to the Elizabeth Line from both Stratford and Docklands.

Places are allocated on a first come first served basis and we advise you to apply as early as possible to give yourself the best chance of receiving an offer. English Language Requirements

To study at The University of East London you must demonstrate that your English level is at the standard for university study. We accept several different English language qualifications / tests for entry onto our courses. We also offer Pre-sessional English (PSE) courses for students who need to improve their English language prior to starting their studies.

Funding opportunities

We provide a range of scholarships, bursaries, and discounts for home and international students to help with the cost of your education. Additionally, UK students may also qualify for the postgraduate loan offered by Student Finance England.
If you have completed an undergraduate course with us, you may be eligible for an alumni discount.
