Course content
The DClinDent in Orthodontics is a three-year, full-time programme which enables students to develop, consolidate and enhance their range of academic and clinical competencies to enable independent and reflective practice at the standard of a specialist in Orthodontics.
This degree is for dentists wishing to train as specialists in Orthodontics. It is approved as part of the training programme in orthodontics by the SAC (Specialist Advisory Committee) in Orthodontics for those UK trainees in possession of a National Training Number (NTN) awarded by the Postgraduate Dental Dean for Scotland (students from outside of the UK and Ireland are not normally given a National Training Number).
Successful completion of the DClinDent will stand students in good stead if considering applying to the Specialty Membership Examination in Orthodontics (MOrth) administered by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
