Entry requirements

The minimum entry requirement is a UK 2:1 undergraduate degree, or its international equivalent, in biological, veterinary or medical sciences. You are also required to have a working knowledge of molecular biology and laboratory experience. Supporting documentation must be uploaded together with your application. You should have all this documentation ready before you start the process. If you do not upload these documents, this will delay the application process.

Course content

Our programme provides graduates with the scientific knowledge and practical skills to carry out research in the emerging area of animal science and 'One Health', by providing foundation knowledge about the functioning of the animal body. We explore applications of basic animal sciences to veterinary and human medicine, the livestock industry and food security.

The programme is held in our newly housed and refurbished, world-famous Roslin Institute. You will become part of this Institute, enjoying our world-class reputation for research and a vibrant, successful academic community.
