Course content
Our MSc in Medical Imaging provides a comprehensive grounding in Computed Tomography (CT) and / or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), equipping you to practice in a rapidly evolving field. Our range of modules encompass theory, clinical applications and how theory is applied to practice. One module will encompass evidence-based practice and enable you to undertake a research, audit, or service evaluation project.
You can choose optional modules from our wider postgraduate portfolio, including leadership, clinical education, and research. These are co-taught with radiography learners from different programmes. Other modules (in Clinical Education, Management and Leadership and Research) are taught to multi-professional cohorts enabling you to benefit from elements of interprofessional learning.

Your learning is through lectures, tutorials and seminars. We are strongly committed to offering high levels of student support. You will have a Personal Tutor at the University who will offer both personal and academic support.
Research-led teaching
We believe every student benefits from being part of a research-led culture and being taught by experts – you will discuss the very latest ideas in seminars and tutorials and become actively involved in research yourself. Research plays an important part in developing patient care and radiography as a whole for the future. You will be taught by staff who are at the cutting edge of their research areas which ensures you receive the most up-to-date knowledge.
20 years of Medical Imaging excellence
Medical Imaging at the University of Exeter is celebrating 20 years of teaching and research excellence, training much-needed radiographers for the NHS and beyond.
Since the programme was launched in 2004 to help address a national shortage of radiographers, Medical Imaging has trained more than 1,000 radiographers, with active student placements in ten NHS trusts across Devon, Cornwall, Dorset and Somerset.
