Course content

  • Extend your previous training as an effective and evidence-based practitioner in evidence-based psychological therapy/practice by undertaking a research project or service evaluation in your practice area.
  • Enjoy a high-quality and stimulating learning experience in a supportive environment with other psychological therapists/practitioners.
  • The programme is enriched by an internationally-recognised research environment, nationally-recognised innovative clinical teaching approaches and current clinical practice.

This programme is open to any psychological therapists/practitioners qualified at Diploma level in the UK, who want to extend their studies at Master’s level.

This programme has been developed to enable you to extend your PGDip into an MSc by undertaking a piece of empirical research, a service evaluation, a quality improvement project or a systematic review. The research thesis will allow you to follow your research interests in a topic related to your clinical area or a project related to service-based development. Supervision is provided by clinical researchers and/or psychological therapies/practice subject experts with provision available to support project supervision over Zoom or Teams to improve access to the programme.

The MSc will follow successful completion of a PGDip Psychological Therapies Practice programme available within Clinical Education, Development and Research (CEDAR) or nationally.
