Entry requirements

A 2:1 Honours degree in biochemistry, biotechnology, cell biology, genetics, immunology, molecular biology, medicine or other relevant biological/biomedical science. Professional experience and 2:2 applicants with a strong subject specific expertise will also be considered on a case-by-case basis.

An IELTS score of at least 6.5 with a minimum score of 6.0 in each component (or equivalent qualification) is required for students who do not have English as their first language.

Programme structure

You can choose to specialise in one of the following:

  • Bioinformatics
  • Cancer Pathology and AI
  • Preclinical Cancer Modelling

Successful applicants will work with teaching faculty to select their specialism once the teaching has begun. Students undertake 100 credits related to their specialism, including their project.

The MSc programme will consist of 7-8 taught courses (depending on the chosen specialism) and a project or dissertation, spread over 11-12 months.
