Entry requirements

• Applicants should hold a 2:2 degree or equivalent professional experience or learning in a related field
• Non-standard applications will be considered on their merits in the light of the nature and scope of the programme
• Applicants will be assessed through interview
• For applicants where English is not their first language, we require an IELTS: Score of 7 with no component lower than 6.5
• All applicants must hold GCSE Mathematics and English Language at grade C/4 or above
• A satisfactory Criminal records declaration (DBS/Disclosure Scotland) and Occupational Health clearance are required for this course.

Course content

Prepare for contemporary physiotherapy practice in the continually evolving Health and Social Care sector on our MSc in Physiotherapy (Pre-registration). Learn in a clinical environment, making the link between theory and practice from day one, and secure more than 1,000 hours of clinical practice.

You’ll be taught in our purpose-built rehabilitation and assessment facilities, which include a therapy clinic and movement analysis laboratory.

The overarching course philosophy is to integrate academic and clinical learning, preparing you for the workplace by exploring content through case-based learning.

The course aims to develop leaders in contemporary physiotherapy practice. You’ll be an agent for change in service improvement and innovation - ready to influence the local, national and international health and wellbeing agenda. You’ll also be able to collaborate effectively with service users, carers, health professionals and other agencies as you work to provide high-quality healthcare.
