A first or upper 2nd-class honours degree in a relevant subject, or a qualification recognised as equivalent. Candidates with a good 2:2 degree in a relevant subject may be considered.
Months of entry
This degree will provide you with detailed knowledge of the state-of-the-art methodologies and techniques relevant to current and future strategies for the design of mechanical systems and components. We will pay particular attention to the development of investigative, modelling and computational strategies. The course covers fluid dynamics, solid structures, advanced and conventional materials and control systems.
You may, if you wish, choose to study for an MSc in Advanced Mechanical Engineering with Industry (full-time), which includes the opportunity to apply for a range of industry placements arranged by the Department.
You may also opt to take a MSc in Advanced Mechanical Engineering with Management, offering the oppertunity to gain inisght into management during your course.
Information for international students
Qualifications recognised as equivalent to a British first or upper 2nd-class honours degree, will be considered. Candidates whose first language is not English and who have not previously been taught in English, must provide evidence of a satisfactory performance in an IELTS test.
