Entry requirements

A first or second class honours degree (or equivalent) from a recognised institution. In addition, you must have at least three years’ relevant work experience in a supervisory, managerial or professional role. We also encourage applications from managers with nine to ten years of relevant experience but without formal qualifications, or those who have completed the University of Leicester's Diploma in Management or Professional Diploma in Management (no longer running). Candidates whose first language is not English must possess IELTS 6.5; or TOEFL 575 (Paper) plus TWE 4.0 or 90 (IBT); or the University of Leicester English Language Test.

Course content

The Leicester MBA by distance learning provides you with the skills necessary to become an adept manager in today’s global business environment. It is AMBA accredited and provides you with first-rate academic standards. As well as the Leicester MBA, you will also be awarded a Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).

The degree covers a broad spectrum of business and management subjects, calling on a wide range of expertise. It allows you to concentrate on general management or to tailor the course to suit your individual career needs. Areas of specialism include marketing, finance and human resource management.

The course will equip you with a thorough understanding of current and emerging theories, techniques, and practices of business management. You will develop the skills to think creatively and strategically about a wide range of business issues alongside an awareness of cultural sensitivity and the ability to work in a cross-cultural, multinational, team-based environment. The course will allow you to integrate and apply the knowledge, approaches and methods that you have learnt to a variety of case studies and your own managerial and work experiences.

Fees and funding
