Entry requirements

You must hold a UK undergraduate (Bachelor's) degree with at least First-Class or Upper Second-Class honours or an equivalent qualification from a recognised overseas institution. We would also normally expect applicants to hold a Master's degree in a relevant subject.

Course content

We offer PhD and MPhil supervision in Modern Languages in areas compatible with the research interests of our academic staff including Italian Studies.

The department is based within a small and friendly School of Modern Languages where the opportunity also exists for interdisciplinary research. All students receive training in research skills through the Faculty research training programme.
