About Management School

Study at the University of Liverpool Management School and you'll be joining an institution that's consistently top amongst its peers for graduate employability. In November 2012 the Management School achieved AACSB accreditation. Only five per cent of business schools worldwide have been awarded the accreditation.

The MBA programme entered The Economist’s ‘Which MBA’ top 100 global ranking in 2015.

ULMS has 116 members of academic staff including 29 Professors and there are approximately 750 students studying on our postgraduate programmes.

Employment rates for Management School graduates are high. Our students have found employment with prestigious international organisations including major banks and accounting firms, the Audit Commission, Lever Faberge, Bank of New York, the NHS and Forbes Investment Management.

English language support

Building

The English Language Centre provides an extensive, vibrant and innovative programme of English language support for International students who are already studying at the University. These extremely popular classes are:

  • free of charge
  • taught by highly-experienced, approachable English tutors who are fully committed to helping you develop your language skills
  • provided throughout the academic year, giving ample time for you to make significant improvements to your use of English.

Libraries

Liverpool was the first Russell Group University to provide week-day 24-hour opening throughout the academic year.
We have two libraries; The Harold Cohen and the Syndey Jones. Collectively, Our libraries have over 1.9 million books, a large portfolio of around 44,000 electronic journals and online access to most major databases. The Library also offers access to over 500,000 contemporary electronic books including academic e-books, reports and conference proceedings, and over 317,000 digitised printed books.

You can have 24/7 access on or off-campus to the library catalogue, our electronic resources, the programme notes your department has put online and a fantastic array of learning materials.

IT

There are over 2,000 computers available to students across campus plus a high-speed wireless service for laptops, tablets and mobiles. Most of the computers are in the two main libraries and are available 24/7 but there are also computer centres in most buildings across campus.

Accommodation

Students

The University of Liverpool has designated postgraduate accommodation on campus, or close to the campus. It includes the recently opened, award-winning Vine Court, situated next to the Management School.

The type and standard of accommodation in Liverpool varies considerably – and so does the cost. The most popular type of private sector accommodation is the shared house where a student has his/her own study bedroom and shares the kitchen and bathroom facilities with other students in the house.

A single student should expect to pay around £70 a week for this (exclusive of utility costs).

Join the Management School and you’ll find yourself living in a truly global city. With a colourful history that stretches back 800 years, Liverpool today has a global reputation for sport, music and architecture, and offers a wealth of culture for our students to explore.

It was voted the UK’s friendliest city in the Condé Nast Traveller Survey 2011, and named as one of the top ten cities to visit in 2014 by global travel writers Rough Guide.

Liverpool is a shopping destination to rival any city. In the city centre, Liverpool One houses 160 shops that are open late into the evening, along with restaurants and a multiplex cinema.

There is an incredible range of cafés, bistros and restaurants in Liverpool appealing to all tastes and budgets and Liverpool has over 250 city centre bars, pubs and clubs.

You might also be surprised to find how green Liverpool is, with a wealth of beautiful city parks and a real sense of space.
