2:1 (or international equivalent) in an arts, humanities or social science subject. For PhD-level study, we would usually expect you to hold, or be working towards, a masters degree in a relevant subject.

We offer PhD supervision in a wide range of disciplines within the area of Hispanic and Latin American Studies. Our specialisms include (but are not limited to):
- Literature and culture in Spain and Spanish America from the 16th century to the present day
- History of Latin America (especially Cuba)
- Intellectual history of Spain and Latin America
- Visual culture of Spain and Spanish America (cinema and painting)
