For MRes courses applicants should hold a 2.1 (or international equivalent) in a relevant subject; for PhD courses applicants should hold a Master's degree in a relevant subject as well as an Honours degree in a relevant disciple at 2.1 (or international equivalent) level or above.

Research is central to all activities in the Business School. A vibrant and collaborative community of over 100 doctoral research students is an integral part of our research culture. Cutting edge research informs the content and design of all our PhD pathways. Students are working with academic leaders in their respective fields of expertise. The University of Nottingham is one of only 21 Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) accredited Doctoral Training Centres (DTC). This accreditation allows applicants from the UK and EU to apply for ESRC-DTC studentships.
