Please note there is an MSc Psychology Conversion programme in the final stages of development, for entry from September 2018\. This will give non-psychology graduates a thorough, modern and evidence-based introduction to psychology as a science. Covering key topics in a wide range of fields, this MSc will confer Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership of the British Psychological Society. You will conduct your own research, and also have the option of a research placement and to observe clinical practice. Please refer to the website for the latest information.

Psychology at Reading

Our programmes enable you to complement your postgraduate study of psychology through a number of NHS-partnered clinics, professional training centres and research placements in neuroscience, developmental psychopathology and clinical research.

The Centre for Integrative Neuroscience and Neurodynamics provides access to state-of-the art technology and expertise in cognitive and computational neuroscience. We also have facilities for experimental and observational research, including a number of specialist laboratories. These include virtual reality, ageing, infant vision, infant language, auditory perception, body kinematics, psychophysiology, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and electroencephalogram (EEG).

We provide excellence in research training for both specialist and transferable skills. Our degrees take a modern approach to the practice of psychology, and you take mandatory modules in a range of analytics methods. You will benefit from the many collaborative ventures of staff and from their involvement with national and international research projects, professional societies and funding bodies, as well as opportunities to participate in academic dissemination, such as conferences and scientific journals.
