Course content

The Artificial Intelligence MSc provides an introduction to key areas of artificial intelligence, including machine learning, deep learning, robotics and automation. The programme explores both the theoretical foundations of AI and the practical development of intelligent systems.

Students study topics such as intelligent agents, search techniques, knowledge representation, probabilistic reasoning and optimisation methods. The programme also examines advanced neural network architectures, generative AI models and large language models, alongside the ethical and social considerations associated with AI technologies.

Learning combines theoretical understanding with practical implementation using industry tools and frameworks. Students gain experience building, training and evaluating AI models and developing end-to-end AI systems.

The programme also explores the design, deployment and management of AI systems, including data engineering, development frameworks, model deployment and monitoring practices. A strong focus is placed on responsible AI, addressing issues such as transparency, fairness and compliance with data privacy regulations.
