About University of South Wales
The University of South Wales is one of the largest universities in the UK, offering students more opportunities, excellent prospects and an even better experience.
We’re a valued partner of some of the world’s leading companies and major public sector employers, making us an ideal choice for professionals who want to further their careers.
We have campuses throughout south Wales, in Pontypridd, Newport and Cardiff. Our campuses have excellent transport links and flexible study options, so it’s easy to fit part-time or higher-level study around your existing commitments, such as work or family.
We offer an exceptional range of subjects and courses at every level from Postgraduate Certificate to PhD. Lots of these courses start in February 2017, as well as September.
Many of our courses can be studied part-time, while others are available through distance learning or 'block' teaching format. The University also has extensive e-learning facilities, so you can access information whenever it suits you.
You'll find award-winning support to help you along the way too – we won the Times Higher Education Award in 2012 for Outstanding Support for Students.
Employability is at the heart of everything we do, with teaching informed by what happens in the real world. We’re dedicated to professional, employment-focused education. Our range of higher level qualifications can help you take the next step in your career and improve your employment prospects. We’ll give you every possible opportunity to apply what you learn – whether it’s through case studies, a project based in industry, or a field course.
We work in consultation with industry in the UK and overseas to ensure our teaching is informed by practice and that our graduates are equipped for the demands of the workplace.
We deliver courses on behalf of many professional bodies, such as the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) and the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).
Research at the University of South Wales makes a real difference. It provides solutions to problems and informs key decisions that affect society, culture and the economy.
In the recent Research Excellence Framework, half of our research was rated world-leading or internationally excellent. We’re also among UK leaders in the fields of social policy, sports and exercise sciences, and creative industries. We offer a rich resource of expertise, which is called on by government, industry and the public sector to provide fresh thinking and new evidence. This all means you’ll be taught by lecturers who are at the forefront of their fields, giving you a window to the latest thinking and developments.
Our continued investment in facilities means we’re a leader in simulated learning environments. These include a mock tribunal room, state-of-the-art trading room, a crime scene house and a clinical simulation suite.
By developing your skills and expertise using industry-standard equipment, you’ll be ready for the demands of the workplace when you graduate. Plus, through e-learning technologies, we can help you make time for your study, wherever and whenever suits you.
Funding Your Studies
Funding is a big factor when deciding whether to undertake further study. We have a team of specialist advisors who can help you make sense of it all. What’s more, the University of South Wales offers a limited number of bursaries and scholarships to help you fund your studies. Find out more about fees and funding.
Open Evenings are the best way to discover what we have to offer – you’ll have the opportunity to speak with academics and get information on student support and funding.
