About University of South Wales
Over 4,500 students choose to study postgraduate courses with the University of South Wales each year. Our quality courses, award-winning lecturers, excellent employability records and outstanding student support make us a top choice.
We have three campuses across south Wales, so students benefit from everything the region has to offer; city life, countryside and culture. Our campuses are easily reached by road, rail and air, so you’ll be well connected to launch your career.
The University of South Wales offers an exceptional range of postgraduate courses at every level, from postgraduate certificates to PhDs. Our flexible learning approach makes it easy for students to fit their studies around a busy life. Many of our taught courses have part-time study options and distance learning available. Some of our courses even start in February, as well as September.
The University of South Wales has an outstanding careers service, with employability at the heart of everything we do. USW Careers helps students take advantage of every opportunity to boost their employability and make them an asset to their employer. We have links with employers and organisations, run employer-led events, employability clinics, volunteering, placement events and networking opportunities.
We even have a Student Enterprise initiative, which offers support and funding for students who want to start their own business. We also run a Grad Edge Employability Award, which is developed with employers and awarded to students who complete 70 hours of work experience.
The University of South Wales is a valued partner of some of the world's leading companies and employers. Many of our courses have accreditation from professional, statutory or regulatory bodies. This means our students gain a qualification recognised in their profession, such as an ACCA or LPC. Our accredited courses range from psychology, law and engineering, to healthcare, business and marketing. Visit our course pages to find out more about your course.
Half of our research is rated as either world-leading or internationally excellent (REF2014). This ensures our courses reflect the latest thinking and advances. Many of our lecturers are at the forefront of their field, producing world-leading research and contributing to advances within their areas of expertise. The University of South Wales is a leader in key areas of specialist research such as sustainable energy, health, mobile communications, humanities, sports injury and performance, criminology, and creative industries and the arts.
Our award-winning student support team will help your time at university run smoothly. We have a wealth of services for your every need, from our wellbeing and disability service to health clinics and advice zones. We also offer an experienced Student Money Advice Team, chaplaincy services and Immigration and International Student Advice (IISA).
We are proud of our learning support. We have thousands of computers across our campuses, and a library on each campus with long opening hours. We also have extensive e-learning facilities, so our students have access to the latest learning technologies and resources. Our Study Skill Centres allow students to develop new skills through our workshops, while our Graduate School provides postgraduate students with an exclusive space that’s perfect for studying.
