Entry requirements

Candidates are required to have completed a recognised training course in aesthetic procedures and be currently undertaking cosmetic procedures in a clinical setting

To secure your place on the course, applicants will typically hold a first degree or equivalent (including international qualifications) in a relevant professional healthcare field, such as a medical or nursing degree. Registered healthcare professionals without these recognised qualifications will be considered on an individual basis and a wide range of prior experience may be taken into account. In some cases, applicants may be asked to submit a piece of work for assessment in order to confirm that they are able to work comfortably at postgraduate level, and demonstrate the requisite clinical and professional knowledge.

English Language Requirements

Proficiency in the English Language is also essential to completing our courses. If English is NOT your first language, we ask for proof of competency during the application process. We are able to accept an IELTS overall score of 6.0 (with a minimum of 5.5 for each band) or an equivalent qualification.

Course content

Taught completely online, our Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma and Master Cosmetic Medicine programmes have been specifically designed for doctors, dentists, dental therapists, pharmacists and nurses, and have been developed with the express purpose of promoting and enhancing the professional knowledge underpinning practice in cosmetic medicine. The programmes are designed to complement Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) awards.

These practice based awards are being developed specifically for cosmetic medicine practitioners and are approved by the Welsh Aesthetics and Cosmetic Society.

With the Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners (the JCCP) adopting increasing regulatory requirements for aesthetic practice, individuals undertaking aesthetic procedures should have a formal postgraduate qualification. Therefore, these qualifications from our Cosmetic Medicine programmes would be an important milestone in the healthcare practitioner's journey to be an aesthetic practitioner. Such qualifications are also regarded as integral by the individuals' regulatory authorities, such as the GDC, GMC and NMC.

The Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma and Master programmes are aimed at doctors, dentists, dental therapists, pharmacists and nurses whose roles are evolving with increasing demand amongst these specialists for a postgraduate qualification to help support their professional learning and clinical development.
