The MSc Advanced Clinical Practice (Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner) degree provides an academic underpinning that meets the contemporary challenges of advanced neonatal practice. Within this, the neonatal masters degree pathway is designed for UK registered, experienced neonatal practitioners wishing to undertake an advanced role in neonatal care.

It will equip you with the skills, knowledge and expertise to assume a lead role in neonatal clinical practice and professional development at the interface between your own profession and medicine.

In the MSc Advanced Clinical Practice - Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner; Advanced Neonatal Practitioner degree you will:

  • Critically evaluate role development in relation to advanced neonatal practice
  • Explore how to meaningfully apply evidence to your role
  • Apply communication and clinical decision-making skills to your professional practice
  • Undertake learning which enables you to develop new and/or enhanced clinical skills in relation to assessment and examination of the newborn, advanced neonatal studies and pharmacology
  • Demonstrate your clinical competence through simulated and practice based clinical assessment
  • If you are eligible to practice as an independent or supplementary prescriber you will have the opportunity to obtain the V300 non-medical prescribing qualification
