Entry requirements

An Upper Second Class Bachelors Degree in Law (or a degree with a substantial legal component) is normally required, but account may also be taken of practical work experience or professional qualifications within the relevant field of study. We welcome applications from international students. Mature applicants without formal qualifications but relevant work experience are also encouraged to apply.

Whether your aim is to progress within a law firm specialising in commercial and corporate work or join the legal team of a global corporation, this LLM degree will provide essential in-depth knowledge to help you succeed. Its flexible structure will enable you to design a programme that suits your individual needs by choosing from a wide range of optional modules. These draw on the world-leading expertise of our academics in areas such as corporate governance, secured transactions, conflict of laws, international business law and maritime law. The options also include modules on ship finance, insurance and ship sale and purchase that are not widely available elsewhere. In addition, our extensive links with law firms will enhance your learning and help you to build professional networks.
