Course content

Change the lives of young people by becoming a qualified teacher on one of our Secondary PGCE courses.
You’ll join a department ranked 5th in the UK (Complete University Guide 2026) and “Outstanding” by OFSTED.
You’ll spend two-thirds of your PGCE in two school placements, starting in October, under the guidance of curriculum mentors who are all experienced classroom teachers. One-third of your time will be spent in university, under the guidance of curriculum tutors, who all have extensive school teaching experience. We will support you with contrasting placement experiences from our well-established partnership schools and colleges.
