Course content
Kickstart your career in the games industry with a course designed to build your skills and professional portfolio. As an aspiring game creator and designer, you’ll develop the expertise to make a real impact in today’s video game landscape.
You’ll gain both practical and theoretical knowledge to succeed as a games designer or artist, learning advanced techniques for creating characters, environments, vehicles, and weapons. You’ll also use Unreal Engine to develop gameplay systems, artificial intelligence, and small-scale games.
At University of Staffordshire, you’ll bring your ideas to life using industry-standard tools for sculpting, texturing, simulation, and digital painting, all within a professional development environment supported by expert tutors.
On successful completion, you’ll be awarded an MSc in Computer Games Design. Modules focus on design, with assessments contributing to your portfolio, covering research methods, prototyping, professional practice, and game feel.
The course culminates in a major Games Master Project, alongside access to specialist facilities, including motion capture, dedicated games labs, and industry-standard software and hardware.
