We’re the first university to win the coveted Times Higher Education University of the Year title twice and almost 90% of research produced by the University of Strathclyde has been rated ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally-excellent’ in the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021.

Our campus

Located in the heart of the city, our campus is a short walk away from two main line train stations, bus station and the subway to help you get around the city and the rest of the UK.

We are investing in your future

Over the course of the current decade, we are transforming our campus by investing £1 billion to create a first-class working and learning environment for our students.

Our new £31 million sports centre, Strathclyde Sport, brings state of the art training, fitness and wellbeing facilities to the heart of the University’s campus. The new facility includes a 25-metre swimming pool, fitness suite with capacity for over 180 people, sports halls, squash courts, dance studio and treatment rooms.

Strathclyde students can also to enjoy our new £60 million Learning & Teaching building, which is located in the centre of the campus. Designed with students and staff in mind, the new hub includes leading-edge teaching facilities as well as providing a new home for student support services and the Students’ Union.


Based in the heart of Glasgow, our self-catered campus village is just a short walk away from the main University buildings.

The campus village includes an open study area, a Santander bank, Todds Bar, laundrette, and is situated close to the shops, restaurants, cafés, bars and other entertainment in the city centre and Merchant City.

To make your ‘Strathliving’ experience even better there is a dedicated on-site management team and a night porter outside office hours and weekly cleaning of communal areas in each flat is included in your rent.

Studying in Glasgow

Scotland’s largest city will be the backdrop to your studies, giving you instant access to world-class architecture and attractions, a diverse culinary scene, vibrant nightlife and outstanding shopping. Known as the ‘Dear Green Place’, Glasgow boasts more than 90 parks and is a UNESCO City of Music, home to the SSE Hydro – one of the world’s busiest concert venues. The world’s top travel guides have consistently named Glasgow as a must-visit destination – and we couldn’t agree more.


We offer a range of scholarships for postgraduate study and SAAS provides funding for selected courses.
If you wish to be nominated by the University for any scholarship or funding, we recommend that you apply as early as possible

How to apply

Applications for most of our postgraduate taught programmes can be made online via our website.

There is no formal closing date for most postgraduate applications, but we recommend you to apply as soon as possible.

Strathclyde is a really welcoming place, and so is Glasgow, so it’s been an easy transition. I really love it here.
