Course content

MA Fine Art: Photography at Camberwell College of Arts investigates photography as a popular technology and as a material and technological apparatus. We understand photography not only as a record of the past, but as an exploratory and enquiring process that informs the future.

MA Fine Art: Photography supports and challenges you to develop your work through practical experimentation supported by tutorials, seminars, lectures and workshops. There will be opportunities to exhibit your work publicly and to test new ways of working creatively with photography and its related practices. We encourage an open-minded and diverse approach to the specialism, engaging in a wide range of global discourses including climate, racial and social justice narratives.

Students can expand their practice by integrating technical and creative developments through open and exploratory learning approaches. These could include both analogue and digital processes, 3D camera construction, 3D printing, photogrammetry and model-making.

By the end of the course, you will have developed a portfolio of work which will demonstrate your individual research interests, visual range and storytelling skills to potential employers.
