About University of Warwick

We are a world-leading university with the highest academic and research standards.

Born out of boldness, imagination and collaboration, we’re consistently present in the rankings of the UK’s and the world’s greatest universities, and we are the most targeted institution nationally by the UK’s top 100 employers (The Graduate Market in 2017, High Fliers Research Ltd).

The 2014 Research Excellence Framework placed us seventh among UK research universities, meaning you’ll learn alongside academics at the cusp of new thinking. In 2016/17 we awarded approx. £33-34 million in postgraduate funding, helping outstanding students to succeed.

All of this means you’ll be welcomed to a supportive, energetic campus community where you can stretch yourself personally, professionally and academically.

Whether you want to be a front-runner in a fast-moving graduate job market, or to make a difference and change the world, we want you here.

We strive to break new ground every day.

Keeping up this momentum is a challenge but, by maintaining our research excellence, we continue to go beyond boundaries. That’s why we’re proud of our strong performance in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework, for both overall grade point average (GPA) and intensity.

We’ve strengthened our position amongst the UK’s ten best research universities. Warwick’s intensity also achieved a top ten ranking, signifying the strength-in-depth of our exceptional body of research staff.

Teaching and Learning

Our reputation for research allows us to attract teachers who are among the very best in their respective fields. This means our teachers are at the forefront of research. They’re the teachers who are innovating. They’re the teachers who are setting the agenda for others to follow.

We feature flexible learning spaces across campus, and we’re also investing into a new, dedicated building with access to some of the UK’s best teaching and learning facilities.

Postgraduate provision

We provide flexible study and social spaces, many of which are exclusively for postgraduates. You can book seminar rooms for your own academic events, conferences and networks. The Modern Records Centre located on campus provides you with access to important primary sources, a research area, a teaching space and an exhibition centre. We have networks and partners across the globe including The Monash Warwick Alliance and The Centre for Urban Science and Progress (CUSP) in New York. Our Institute of Advanced Study, through its Visiting Fellowship Scheme, regularly brings to the University academics of international importance, who particularly work with postgraduate students.

Outside study, you can choose from nearly 300 student societies and get involved in cultural celebrations and events.

Our campus is home to students and staff from all over the world. Safe, inclusive and cosmopolitan, it offers everything you could need close at hand, including shops, banks, bars, cafés and restaurants along with sports, health and worship facilities.

We’re located in Coventry, which is the base for many of our students living off campus. It’s a city of contradictions, with modern high street shops, restaurants, nightclubs and bars, within a five minute walk of medieval monuments.

Coventry’s central location means you’re well placed for travel across the UK by rail: it takes just 20 minutes to travel to Birmingham, and an hour to reach London.

Many students also live in nearby Leamington Spa, which is just a bus ride away. It’s smaller than Coventry but still lively with plenty of bars, cafés and shops to explore. And for culture, history and heritage, nearby Kenilworth, Warwick and Stratford-upon-Avon are well worth a visit.

Choosing Warwick opens up endless possibilities for you to fulfil your potential. We’ll give you the tools to carve out the career path that’s right for you. We’re ranked within the top 25 in the world for our reputation with employers (QS World University Rankings 2018), who describe Warwick graduates as well motivated with a broad range of interests outside academic studies. Over 300 leading employers visit campus each year, and the value of a Warwick education is reflected in the high quality of job roles that employers offer to our graduates.
