Entry requirements

As a minimum, you should have a good Honours degree (normally an Upper Second) or equivalent. If your qualifications are not under the UK system please visit the international section of our website for details of equivalent qualifications. Exceptionally an applicant without these formal qualifications but with considerable work experience in the tourism or related industries may be accepted at the discretion of the Course Leader. If your first language is not English you will need an IELTS score of 6.5.

Course content

You will learn about the nature and characteristics of the tourism industry, and explore how it can be marketed, managed and planned, examining cases from around the world. A range of option modules allows you to focus on your particular interests, and to explore the links between the different aspects of tourism. A dissertation gives you the chance to research a topic of your choice in depth.

Professional recognition

This course is recognised by the Tourism Management Institute (TMI). Assessment and recognition by TMI means that students can be confident the course will provide them with knowledge, understanding, skills and experience which will fully prepare them for a career in tourism destination management.
