This hybrid programme is designed to develop you into a highly skilled practitioner, combining an in-depth understanding of training and rehabilitation sciences with excellent interpersonal coaching abilities to prepare you for success in the sports performance and rehabilitation sectors.
With a strong focus on employability, the course provides unparalleled opportunities for real-world learning. You’ll work directly with athletes, gaining valuable experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating strength and conditioning programmes, as part of the placement module. These practical engagements help build essential coaching skills and prepare you for roles in fields such as strength and conditioning, sports therapy, and physiotherapy.
The programme uses a hybrid learning approach. Theoretical components are delivered through engaging online tasks and concise pre-recorded lectures. While practical sessions are conducted in-person at our Specialist Strength and Conditioning, Biomechanics, and Physiology labs. This flexible format allows you to balance academic study with work or other commitments, making it a great fit for both recent graduates and industry professionals looking to upskill.
Aligned with the UK Strength and Conditioning Association (UKSCA) competency framework, the programme equips students with the knowledge and practical experience needed to pursue UKSCA accreditation — a widely recognized standard of excellence in the field.
