Entry requirements
Academic Pathway:
A degree classification of 2:2 or above in a related subject area.
Work Experience Pathways:
Any degree subject area and 12 – 24 months of supervisory work experience in a related sport setting, demonstrating knowledge of the subject matter you are interested in pursuing.
OR
3 – 5 five years of relevant managerial work experience, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of the sector for the subject matter you are interested in pursuing. Should we need further clarity on your suitability a meeting may be arranged with the course leader.
All work experience-based applicants will be required to provide a reference detailing your role(s) and responsibilities from your line manager this would be requested after you have successfully applied.

Entry to this course requires a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check and an Occupational Health Check.

Due to the professional nature of some of our courses you may also be required to complete a Declaration of Health and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check. We will coordinate both of these non-academic conditions with you should your course require this and you receive an offer from us
There will be no cost for the DBS this is free to applicants who have secured an offer and have chosen to study at the University of Wolverhampton.

Course content
A strength and conditioning (S&C) Master's degree equips students with advanced knowledge and skills in designing, implementing, and evaluating fitness training programmes for athletes. Students who enrol on this course are usually already working as coaches or trainers but want to advance their careers by obtaining a higher level of education.
The curriculum focuses on the science and application of coaching, training methodology and programme design, biomechanics and performance profiling, and sports psychology.
This course will allow you the opportunity to develop key competencies in strength & conditioning science and coaching, and challenge you to develop your theoretical knowledge, applied experiences and research skills towards becoming an evidence-based S&C practitioner.
