Who is the programme for?
When you think about the word ‘apprenticeship’, you may not automatically think about the opportunities they present for those who are already in an established career. Senior Leader Apprenticeships are designed specifically for managers and leaders; providing them with the knowledge and skills essential to progress into a more senior role and have a wider impact on the leadership of their organisation. The apprenticeship is suitable for those working in the private, public, and third sectors and for companies of any size.
What is the aim of the programme?
The aim of the programme is to develop confident and competent senior leaders in line with the Senior Leader apprenticeship standards developed by employers and industry experts and to meet the requirements of current organisational demands.
The Senior Leader Apprenticeship will develop apprentices’ knowledge, skills and behaviours so they can lead successfully; think and act strategically; have the ability to manage workforce planning and talent management effectively; promote an inclusive and collaborative workplace; develop the next generation of leaders; have the confidence to influence and negotiate with a diverse range of stakeholders; create new and innovative sustainability practices; and navigate and lead change effectively.
Fees and funding
Costs associated with providing the degree, skills mentoring, and programme management are included in Degree Apprenticeship fees. The fees can be covered using different funding options, depending on the size of the employer.
For employers with a payroll below £3 million: The Government will pay 95% of the cost of the apprenticeship training and assessment for apprentices of any age, for employers who will not be paying the apprenticeship levy. You may also be eligible for extra employer incentives.
For employers with a payroll above £3 million: From May 2017, employers will be able to use their Apprenticeship Levy contributions towards the cost of the apprenticeship using their digital account.
We will agree a payment schedule and discuss funding availability before you start the apprenticeship and ensure the cost to your business is clear upfront.
