PGCE Primary Education (QTS)
Entry requirements
Applicants will need a Grade 4/C in GCSE English, Maths and Science to be considered for the course (equivalency tests are also acceptable and available).
They should also have an undergraduate degree with a minimum classification of 2:2.
You will also need a satisfactory DBS and a good level of physical and mental fitness to teach.

- Employability options are strengthened as school experience is undertaken in Wales and England.
- Gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) on completion of the programme.
- Wrexham University has a long history of teacher training and has close connections to many leading primary schools in the Wrexham area on the border between Wales and England. A significant amount of the programmes will be in school, where you progress from teaching small groups to whole classes.
- Your school experience will be with Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Placements are organised by our Placement Learning Unit to ensure that you receive the appropriate level of support.
- You will be supported by a passionate and caring team of experienced tutors, who strive for excellence in the theory and practice of teaching. By studying with us, you will also have access to fantastic resources and support systems which will be available to you throughout your PGCE.
