AI Lab Consultant

Job description

The digital landscape is evolving faster than ever, and artificial intelligence is at the very heart of this transformation. We don’t just teach theory from a textbook; we empower the next generation of technical minds with elite skills to lead cutting-edge AI, machine learning, and advanced data projects.

The AI Engineering Lab is our specialist training programme designed to fast-track exceptional quantitative talent into world-class technical consultants. Following an initial training period where you’ll gain deep technical expertise and elite client-facing skills, you’ll be embedded in our Consulting delivery teams working on live projects and delivering immediate impact for our industry-leading clients.

The Programme Journey: How You’ll Grow

Our intensive 8-14 week technical enablement curriculum follows a rigorous, modular architecture designed to build both deep foundational knowledge and elite specialism:

Phase 0 – The Quality Gate & Pre-Learning (Up to 2 Weeks): Before the main cohort kicks off, we evaluate your baseline competencies across programming, Linux, and cloud fundamentals. If there are any gaps, we’ll support you with up to two weeks of curated, self-paced pre-learning to ensure you enter the lab feeling confident and ready.

Phase 1 – Core Technical Fundamentals (Weeks 1-4): Dive deep into the core tools of modern technology consulting. You’ll master professional software practices (TypeScript/Python, Git), Linux development environments, Cloud Architecture (AWS core services), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), containerisation (Docker), CI/CD pipelines, and database essentials.

Phase 2 – Specialist Track Training (Weeks 5-8/10): Capitalising on your quantitative strengths, you will specialise in one of our high-demand elite paths:

  1. AI Engineer (Agentic AI): Master autonomous AI architecture, LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG systems, and multi-agent frameworks (CrewAI/AutoGen) on the Microsoft platform.
  2. AI Engineer (Machine Learning): Attain SageMaker platform mastery, data engineering for ML, custom model development (TensorFlow/PyTorch), and full MLOps pipelines.
  3. Data Engineer: Build modern data lakehouses using AWS and Databricks, Apache Spark, and advanced real-time streaming pipelines.
  4. Cloud Engineer: Gain advanced mastery over compute, Kubernetes orchestration, networking deep dives, and cost-optimisation practices.

Perks, Progression & Support

  • Elite Certifications Funded: We fully fund premium industry-recognised certifications tailored to your track (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft AI Engineer Associate, Databricks Certified Data Engineer).
  • High-Touch Mentorship: You’ll learn from active senior consultants and industry practitioners through weekly feedback sessions, 1-to-1 training reviews, and dedicated lab support.
  • Vibrant Cohort Culture: Experience your initial face-to-face training elements in our Leeds hub with fully provided corporate accommodation options before moving into tactical delivery across the UK.
  • 25 Days of Annual Leave: Plus 1 extra day every year for the first three years, with a holiday buying scheme.
  • Pension Plan: Employer-matched contributions up to 5%.
  • Health Benefits: Comprehensive coverage for medical, dental, optical, and alternative therapies.
