MSc Management

What you will learn

On this course you will examine the essentials of management theory and practice and the core principles and practice of business and organisations in a local and international context. You will gain a broad knowledge and expertise in the design and implementation of strategy at different levels of corporate organisations and of other types of organisation such as public, not-for-profit and cooperative.

How you will learn

Students on the MSc Management will learn through a mix of lectures, interactive seminars and hands-on workshops, tailored to bridge theory and practice. Studying real-world case studies will help you to foster practical problem-solving skills. You can study this MSc course in the daytime or in the evening from autumn 2024.

MRes Management

The MRes Management is designed for students with a good academic background who wish to improve their research skills and do a substantial piece of dissertation research. The research training modules are the same as those taken by our MPhil/PhD students; the MRes is suitable for students who are considering undertaking a PhD in Management. You may choose subject-specific modules from within the area of business and management, and other social science disciplines, in keeping with your individual research interests.

Information for international students

If English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English, our usual requirement is the equivalent of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic Test) score of 6.5, with not less than 6.0 in each of the sub-tests.

If you don't meet the minimum IELTS requirement, we offer pre-sessional English courses and foundation programmes to help you improve your English language skills and get your place at Birkbeck.
