Course content

The International MSc in Finance is a rigorous and comprehensive program which aims to develop finance professionals with strong ethics and an in-depth knowledge of the field, both in financial investments and corporate finance.

The program combines theoretical rigor with a practical, hands-on approach
. Students have the opportunity to explore hedge fund strategies, discuss corporate restructuring, empirically test investment strategies, and immerse themselves in private equity or M&A deals.

As the only CFA® partner school in Portugal, CATÓLICA-LISBON offers a unique opportunity to obtain the internationally recognized CFA® Level 1 accreditation during the degree. Students can also specialize in Quantitative Finance through a joint program with Instituto Superior Técnico (the top Portuguese engineering school), to earn a certificate in "Quantitative Methods in Finance". You can also pursue an extra Exchange Semester or a Double Degree at a top international business school.

Our graduates pursue high level careers in investment banks, other financial institutions, consultancies, and other major corporations all over the world.

You can also opt to do the MSc in Finance. This program has the duration of one and a half year and you will complete 99 ECTS. In this case you won't have the exchange semester. For the MSc in Finance, the international electives and the Language are not requirements.
